THE STORY BEHIND FIX YO FACE

THE BALM SUCKED.
SO HE MADE HIS OWN.

Riyaz, founder of Fix Yo Face

Riyaz Khan was 10 years old, training jiu jitsu most days of the week, and his skin was taking a massive beating because of it. Mat-worn skin, friction, dry patches, sweat irritation. Pretty standard stuff when you spend that much time rolling around on mats.

What he couldn't get past was the balm.

The stuff his mom kept handing him smelled like the bottom of Grandma's purse, sat on his face like bacon grease, and made him want to wipe it off five seconds after putting it on. It worked, but it was not passing the vibe check.

And that got him thinking.

Why did skincare made for active skin have to feel so bad to use?

Everything he tried seemed to have the same problem. Too greasy. Too medicinal. Too herbal. Too woo woo. Packaging that looked like it belonged in a medicine cabinet. Nothing felt like it was made for him.

And if you hate putting something on your skin, it doesn't really matter how great the ingredients are.

So Riyaz decided to make his own.

FROM HOMESCHOOL PROJECT TO O.G.

It started in October 2025 as a homeschooling project. Come up with a business idea and learn some applicable life skills in the process. Easy. The balm idea stuck immediately.

O.G. Balm was started in the kitchen. Research ingredients. Make a batch. Hate something about it. Change it. Make another.

Too soft. Too hard. Too greasy. Too waxy. Wrong scent. Wrong color.

There were a lot of questionable batches. A lot.

Then one finally hit!

O.G. BALM.

Bright green. Smooth and creamy. Fast-absorbing. A scent nobody has successfully figured out how to describe yet.

Most importantly, Riyaz actually wanted to use it.

That could have been the end of the project.

It wasn't.

ONE BALM TURNED INTO FIVE PRODUCTS

Once O.G. worked the foundation was set and Riyaz started wondering what else he could make better.

Black Belt came next. Dark, subtle masculine scent and made with the body and strength in mind.

Then came the sticks. Same idea, firmer formula, because scooping balm out of a jar isn't convenient when you're throwing it into a gym bag. Riyaz wanted a on-the-go product for his busy life.

Then came Don't Get Lippy, because apparently stopping at two balms wasn't happening.

Soft Knockout. Fresh Tap. Combo Fuel.

One project had turned into an actual lineup. The lineup became a powerful brand voice. The brand got to business, for real.

BUILT ON THE MATS

Jiu jitsu isn't just where the idea came from.

It's a big part of why Riyaz had the nerve to do anything with it.

Training six days a week teaches you pretty quickly that you're going to get things wrong. You tap. You learn. You lock in and show up again tomorrow.

Product development turned out to work pretty much the same way. Try, fail, learn, try again.

So at 11 years old, Riyaz walked into his gym with the balms he'd made and sold his first jars face to face.

No giant launch.

No marketing team.

Just a kid, a product he believed in, and enough confidence to ask someone to buy it.

Fix Yo Face was officially a thing.

KID FOUNDED. GROWN-UP BACKED.

Yes, Riyaz is actually the founder.

No, we don't leave an 11-year-old unsupervised with a business, hot wax and a Shopify account. 😂

Riyaz drives the ideas, products and personality behind Fix Yo Face. The grown-ups handle the grown-up stuff, including safety, compliance, operations and the paperwork nobody has ever dreamed of doing for fun.

It's his company.

He just has stellar backup.

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Fix Yo Face is still early.

Very early.

There are more formulas being tested, more scents and colors being argued over, and a gym bag and gear spray currently somewhere on Riyaz's increasingly long list of ideas.

Some will make it.

Some probably won't.

That's kind of the point.

Fix Yo Face isn't interested in making skincare and gym essentials just because there's room for another jar on a shelf. If Riyaz wouldn't use it himself, it doesn't make the cut.

He's 11.

He's five products deep.

And he's just getting started.

BUILT FOR THE GRIND.

“I didn’t set out to make fancy skincare. I wanted something I’d actually throw in my gym bag and use every day on my own face and body. That’s really where Fix Yo Face came from.”
